Located in the shadows of Thailand’s major stone quarries in Saraburi province, P’ Wee and her family run a small custom marble business. The driveway leading to the shop is strewn with boulders that were too unruly to be processed into slabs by the large mills nearby. When I first visited her shop in early 2020 and saw the vibrant stone colors being turned on a series of massive marble lathes, I immediately thought that my friend Steven Bukowski’s design sensibility would adapt well to P Wee’s fabrication strengths.
After successfully launching our first series of bowls and catch-all-trays with Steven earlier in the year, we are now excited to expand the collection with a new Jar Sculpture he co-designed with Hannah Bigeleisen, as well as a trio of mortar and pestle’s conceived by Pat Kim.
